I am scrambling to make a group show in May. While looking for some pastel paper, I ran across this, which I reproduce at size, one of my favorite little pastel drawings done in the Presidio while looking east at a squall moving through San Francisco. Skyline has changed a lot since this was done. Had to be so quick as the weather was movin' fast, but I was lucky and the colors were every bit as intense as the drawing would indicate. Today, I am painting croissants, ala prima, and a fine mess they are, compared to this piece...

Well Chuck it seems to me that you might have to come to the realization that you're an amazing artist. I know it hurts, just take a deep breath and run with it...Thanks for showing this to us Chuck. Always an inspiration.
Beautiful work, just found your blog and really enjoying looking through it :)
Another Academy student just saying "hi" :D

Hey Chuck,
That's a cool pastel piece! I'm definitely going to need to proceed with landscapes in the medium.
Sorry I'm technically posting the blog link on Thursday morning. But here it is.

love the colors!
there's probably alot more treasure like this choked in the mountains of papers/books you have in your workspace and office chuck =)
professor chuck! so good to hear from you! these drawings are so solid. i love them all. i am doing my best to preserve a class drawing i snagged from you (as futile as newsprint preservation goes), the drawing itself is gold! hope you are well.
