What better use for an old illustrator's portfolio of 4x5 transparencies than as a viewer for the 80% eclipse we witnessed today. Fellow dinosaurs, those old transparencies are useful as sun filters allowing one to watch astronomical phenomena without going blind.

Apparently mesmerized by the candle, or the august presence of Chris Kenyon and David Grove, I am standing between them in this ancient shot of an SFSI party. Chris recently departed after a full, full, life. David is still painting, smoking Gauloises, and about to have a major retrospective at the Society of illustrators. That's peggy Rose in the background.
Can't say where, but it was NOT in France, even though it felt like it. Only thing that didn't look terrible by day's end.
Out painting with guys. Great but windy day of painting. Limbering up for the first day of the Plein Air season; nothing like doing it alongside a bunch of painters who are a lot better than oneself.
